Logging out of your account terminates your active session. UTurn includes granular local sanitization toggles upon logout, allowing you to choose whether your local database and downloaded media files remain cached on the device or are permanently erased.

To access these features, select the Settings tab from the bottom navigation bar, tap Account, and select Logout.

Configuring Local Data Sanitization Toggles

When you open the Logout screen, the interface presents you with two explicit security switches followed by a primary logout action button. You can customize these settings depending on your current security requirements:

  • Delete database from this device: Toggling this switch on will completely erase your local encrypted message index from the host device’s storage directory upon sign-out.
  • Delete all files from this device: Toggling this switch on will completely delete all locally cached media attachments, including chat images, video clips, and audio notes.

Finalizing the Sign-Out Process

Once you have configured the switches to match your desired data retention posture, tap the primary Logout button at the bottom of the screen to terminate your active session.

Retaining Local Files

If you leave both switches toggled off and tap Logout, your profile logs out but leaves your local database and file repositories intact. This allows you to securely see and access your historical database strings and media files the next time you log back into this specific device.

Hard-Wiping Local Files

If you toggle one or both switches on, the client application will securely incinerate those specific data directories from your hardware filesystem the exact moment your session ends. This action leaves no unencrypted fragments or cached database structures behind.
